NEW: I’m writing a book.

I have been asked to write a book about my experiences as an election observer around the world. And what better time to do so than during lockdown. With huge thanks to friends and others who have encouraged me (and donated via a Kickstarter).

The book will examine some of the dubious practices that take place in elections around the world as well as some of the more interesting things that have happened to me when I’ve been observing.

I am an elections analyst and observer and former elected politician. This site showcases my analysis and commentary on elections around the world as well as details of consultancy services.

I am also involved in a long-term project looking at the impact of social media and online campaigning in elections. I post regular updates on this issue (as well as occasional long-read analysis) on the blog.

As often as possible on the blog I also publish a reading list highlighting interesting articles I found interesting about elections and international relations.
